Itinerary for Eastern Bhutan Tour (6 Nights/7 Days)

Day-1

Arrival in Samdrup Jongkhar
  • Upon your arrival at Samdrup Jongkhar, our guide will warmly welcome you and assist with the entry permit formalities, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free entry into Bhutan
  • Overnight stay in Samdrup Jongkhar

Day-2

Samdrup Jongkhar to Trashigang (Approx. 8 hours)
  • Begin your journey early in the morning for a scenic drive to Trashigang.
  • Take a short break to visit the National Handloom Development Project, famous for its traditional weaving techniques and exquisite Bhutanese textiles
  • Visit Trashigang Dzong the historic fortress that overlooks the Drangme Chhu River
  • Depart for Trashiyangtse, a picturesque district known for its cultural heritage and scenic beauty
  • Stop at Gom Kora a sacred meditation site, associated with Guru Rinpoche, nestled beside the Kholong Chu River
  • Visit Chorten Kora
  • Drive back to Trashigang
  • Overnight stay in Trashigang

Day-3

Tashigang – Sakteng (Approx. 6-7 hours)
  • Drive to Sakteng approximately 6-7 hours through remote roads and beautiful landscapes, including thick forests, rivers, and small villages
  • Along the way, enjoy the natural beauty and make stops for photography and exploration
  • Explore Sakteng
  • Visit Sakteng Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Overnight stay in Sakteng

Day-4

Sakteng–Merak (Approx. 3 hours)
  • Drive to Merak (approx. 3 hours)
  • Explore Merak
  • Overnight stay in Merak

Day-5

Merak – Mongar (Approx. 6-7 hours)
  • Begin your journey early from Merak
  • Explore Wadipa Nye, a sacred site associated with Guru Rinpoche, and take a peaceful walk through the area
  • Visit Mongar Dzong
  • Explore Mongar Town and interact with locals
  • Overnight stay in Mongar

Day-6

Mongar to Lhuentse (Approx. 2 hours)
  • Start your day early with a scenic drive through winding roads and lush landscapes towards Lhuentse
  • Visit the Giant Guru Nangsey Zilneon Statue
  • Visit Lhuentse Dzong
  • Drive to Khoma Village, the hub of Bhutan’s famous Kishuthara (vibrant coloured silk kira)  weaving
  • Overnight stay at Khoma

Day-7

Lhuentse – Samdrup Jongkhar (Approx. 12-14 hours)
  • Begin your journey at dawn from Lhuentse
  • Enjoy a quick breakfast at a local restaurant or guesthouse in Mongar town
  • Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch in Trashigang town
  • Arrive in Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan’s gateway to the Indian state of Assam
  • Overnight stay in Samdrup Jongkhar

  • The approval of a tourist VISA is strictly contingent upon the full payment of the tour package
  • Flight ticket payment must be made in accordance with the Ticketing Time Limit set by the airlines. Failure to make payment within this timeframe may result in the cancellation of the booking or the loss of reserved seats.
  • Receipts and confirmations will be issued upon receiving payments in full

  • 30 to 15 Days Prior to Arrival:- A cancellation fee of 20% of the total tour cost will be charged
  • Less Than 7 Days Prior to Arrival:- A cancellation fee of 100% of the total tour cost will be charged
